Part-time Hotline Coordinator -
SARA is hiring a part-time hotline coordinator to manage our 24-hour crisis hotline program. Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing hotline operations
- Recruiting community members to become volunteer hotline advocates
- Training new volunteer hotline advocates
- Managing the current and on-going team of volunteer hotline advocates, leading meetings, supporting their work, overseeing the provision of crisis services
- Updating and developing hotline training and procedures
- Communicating between staff and volunteers

Adolescent Educator - Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) is hiring a part-time adolescent educator to lead our education and prevention programs for adolescents. This person will be part of our child and adolescent team along with our child educator and child advocate. The adolescent educator is responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of adolescent education and prevention programming, including SARA's programs in area schools and community settings, SARA Teens volunteer group, and a support group for teen girls.
Requirements:

Children's Advocate - Responsible for the development, expansion, and enhancement of interdisciplinary partnerships in King William and King & Queen Counties and the Town of West Point, to provide direct services to child victims of domestic violence. The CA will provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and supportive counseling on an individual and group basis as well as be responsible for all necessary reports. PAID, ONE-YEAR PUBLIC POLICY FELLOWSHIP - The National Women’s Law Center is seeking a college graduate with excellent quantitative, research, and communications skills and relevant experience for a one-year paid public policy fellowship starting September 2010 in its Family Economic Security and Education and Employment programs.
Project Description: The fellow will work on a variety of issues, which may include tax and budget policy, child care, income support, retirement security, education reform and equal education and employment opportunity. Responsibilities include gathering, summarizing, and analyzing research and data from a variety of sources; using spreadsheets to analyze changes over time and the effects of policy proposals; drafting fact sheets, reports and other written materials; attending congressional hearings and other briefings; tracking legislative news; and working with national and state-based coalitions.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. At least one year’s post-college experience working in a research, advocacy, or policymaking environment or master’s degree in public policy, economics or other social sciences program preferred. Must have strong quantitative research skills and facility working with spreadsheets, excellent oral and written communications skills, and facility with Microsoft Windows-based software. Experience with statistical analysis and related software such as SPSS a plus. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle several tasks at once.
